Can you tell us a little about the edit?

Coast are our go-to brand for stylish wedding outfits and we’re so happy to get the chance to show off some of our favourite picks from this season’s looks. The edit is all about making it simple for you to find amazing value and super stylish outfits - whether you’re attending a wedding or the one walking down the aisle! We’ve chosen our favourite on-trend wedding dresses, chic bridesmaid looks and fun wedding guest outfits that we know you’ll love too.

Are you excited to see weddings back on?

It’s such a joy to be able to see couples celebrate with their loved ones again! So many couples made the best of the situation with lovely small weddings during lockdown restrictions, but we couldn’t be more excited for big bashes to be back. It’s time to celebrate in style!

What’s your thoughts on having multiple bridal dresses on your wedding day?

The trend for having a reception outfit as well as a wedding dress has really come into its own the last few years and we love it. The evening dancing is one of the best bits of the day and it’s so important to feel comfortable. We’re seeing bridesmaids swap their floor-length ceremony dresses for cool jumpsuits, chic minidresses and sequins EVERYWHERE. Your wedding is a real chance to splash out and feel fabulous, so why not have multiple outfit changes?!

What bridal styles are modern brides choosing?

Two words: statement sleeves. From delicate puff sleeves inspired by Bridgerton to billowing, boho bishop’s sleeves, they bring so much texture and movement to a dress. If you want to ease yourself in, look for detachable sleeves - they transform a dress from day to night!

We’re also expecting to see a lot more pared-back weddings next year, with couples choosing to tie the knot in an intimate registry office wedding and throw a reception in a pub or their back garden.

It’s created a surge of interest in re-wearable bridal separates and shorter, more informal hemlines. Think tailored mini dresses with removable overskirts, chic and modern jumpsuits, ankle-flashing cigarette trousers with cropped tops, reversible jackets and spangly playsuits.

What are the trending bridesmaid colours this season?

Rich jewel tones will never go out of style for an autumn or winter wedding, but this year we’re seeing bright colours come into their own too. After a difficult 18 months, couples want to make the summer last a little longer by holding onto soft pastel shades and adding vibrant pops of orange or lemon yellow in patterns and accessories.

How do you choose bridesmaid dresses to suit everyone?

This is a tough one, as it’s unlikely all your bridesmaids have exactly the same body shape. The best approach is to choose a colour you love and let your bridesmaid pick a dress in the style they feel most comfortable in. Coast dresses are amazing for this as there are so many styles - from halterneck maxis and tiered ruffled midis to curve-flattering wrap dresses - in gorgeous colour palettes like berry, forest, navy and blush.

What are the trends for wedding guests this season?

Winter brights are going to be super popular. It’s been labeled ‘Dopamine dressing’ because vibrant colours have been shown to lift spirits and boost your mood. It also has a nostalgic hit - remember the colourful patterns we’d dress in as kids in the ‘90s? They’re back and bigger than ever.

Look out also for cut-outs in dresses, blazers and trousers. A sexy hint of flesh is such a confidence boost after months locked away in our houses and wedding guests are ready to let loose and have some fun!
